Quinine – Quiche – Quark – Quince – Qual Eggs – Quinoa – Quavers
Quinine is a bitter compound that comes from the bark of the cinchona tree. The tree is most commonly found in South America, Central America, the islands of the Caribbean, and parts of the western coast of Africa. Quinine was originally developed as a medicine to fight malaria.
Tonic water is a soft drink containing quinine, which gives it a bitter taste. Some people believe that it can also help with leg cramps and restless legs syndrome. So that’s why I like Gin and tonic!
Quiche – great with salad, make your own.
Quark – Quark is a variety of cheese that is made from pasteurized milk
Quince – Quince is a pear-like fruit with aromatic acidic taste, used in preserves.
Quail- small bird and eggs
Quinoa – Quinoa is a plant food that is high in protein, gluten-free, and has about 9 essential amino acids that we often need.
Quavers – no explanation needed
and what about a Quarter Pounder …….
Face Masks – at last!
We all now know that we will need to wear face masks from Friday 24th July
When removing a face covering:
- wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser before removing
- only handle the straps, ties or clips
- do not share with someone else to use
- if single-use, dispose of it carefully in a residual waste bin and do not recycle
- if reusable, wash it in line with manufacturer’s instructions at the highest temperature appropriate for the fabric
- wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser once removed.
I am just like the rest of us that may be a little uncomfortable or self conscious about wearing a mask, but to be honest I will do anything to help get some form of normality back. My dad will be so pleased on Friday when I HAVE to wear a mask in the shops as he said from day 1 that we all should have been wearing them. Ok Dad you win xx
My Q is not for Quarantine
Question – Query
Question – Do you question yourself, question others. With the return of Lula into my daily life I have realised what time apart can do for little ones and how she has developed and grown.
Why nanny, what nanny, when nanny, how nanny.
And for the older ones I am they have many questions to ask.
For us Q has to be:
When will classes start back up?
How will Julie be able to put the correct plans in place?
Why will Julie not be able to do certain things?
Will it be quiet – can we sing?
Will you need to book a place?
Questions – Questions if only I had the answers!
Have a good day everyone – Join the Q…….
