Sharing is caring!

Your Sunday news & updates

This week has been Motivation Week and If you have been in class I have told you that a hundred times! but I am sure I have motivated a few of you.
I have made some of the classes a little bit harder with faster music just to motivate you a bit more. Dee from the Wednesday morning class loved it that much she “sparkled” a heart on her back lol.

Aprons – Peg Bags – Christmas Stockings raised how much!

Wow and wow again. Let me tell you a story. A few months ago I was told that a friend of a class member had passed away and she had been very keen on sewing. Her husband had a huge bag of material including aprons that she had already made. The question was what to do with it all? Jenny our class member asked me if I had any ideas and the rest you know. Along with Liz who took away the material and made more aprons, peg bags and Christmas stocking we have raised an amazing £491.80. Our lovely Win has been selling plants, cuttings and a few jewellery items which raised a total of £43, Win would like to add this to our total making it now… £534.80……. Julie will round this up to £550
Jenny has now spoken to the gentleman concerned and the money will be split, £275 will be sent to The Tom Bowdidge charity and £275 to the Mary Barron Suite at Colchester Hospital.
That just leaves me to say once again, thank you for your support.

Exercise….Why?

There are many reasons why we tend to slow down and become more sedentary with age. It may be due to health problems, weight or pain issues and worries about falling. Or perhaps you think that exercising simply isn’t for you. But as you grow older, an active lifestyle becomes more important than ever to your health. Exercise is also a powerful depression fighter for several reasons. Most importantly, it promotes all kinds of changes in the brain, including neural growth, reduced inflammation, and new activity patterns that promote feelings of calm and well-being. It also releases endorphins, powerful chemicals in your brain that energise your spirits and make you feel good. Exercise can also serve as a distraction, allowing you to find some quiet time to break out of the cycle of negative thoughts that feed depression
