Beer

Sharing is caring!

Hello everyone and still NO rain.
With a week of football and tennis I ask- how did they cope in the heat. The answer is simple, they train, they eat healthy, they keep their fluids up, rest when they can and they look after themselves.
What about you??
Strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, melons, peaches, nectarines, new potatoes, and tomatoes to name a few summer goodies, are these on your shopping list this week?
Midnight Walk sponsor ship money
If you have collected sponsor ship money for your midnight walk I am going into the Hospice head office over the next few weeks and would be very happy to take yours with me, just pop it in an envelope with your name clearly written on the front. Thank you.
Lego!
How are you doing….that’s all I am going to say!
Handbag Winners for this week.
The winners of the first 10 designer bags are as follows:
Karen Pimlott
Trudy (both bags that you bid for)
Debbie Hemmings
Rosemary Daunt
Well done ladies, please bring along your cash and the bag is yours.
I do not feel it necessary at this stage to tell how much was raised or what your bids where as this is confidential to yourselves. There are 6 bags in this weeks auction, a grand total will be given at a time I feel right.
Please note: ALL the other bags in class are there for the taking for a small donation in the pot marked “handbag donations” DON’T be shy rifle through them to see what is on offer.
Berlin –
Just a little something I learnt in Berlin.
The preparation of beer is called brewing. Beer is the world’s most widely consumed alcoholic drink, and is the third-most popular drink overall, after water and tea.
How much is too much?
The government updated the alcohol unit guidelines in January 2016. Advice is that both men and women should not regularly drink more than 14 units a week.
Beer can contain lots of calories. For instance, a pint of larger with 4% ABV can contain 180 calories, similar to a slice of pizza.
Two bottles of beer can contain as many calories as a sirloin steak.
Oh my goodness, good job this was Tony’s drink and not mine!
