Hello Everyone = Very Pleased you all read my Sunday Emails.
Kylie liked Vogue and Madonna was a Virgin, Amy Winehouse sung about Valerie, Bananarama & Venus. I was very lucky to see both Kylie and Madonna sing live with Amy’s death being a tragic loss to the music industry.
The word Very, no…… not the on-line shopping company!
Very – enhances a statement:
Very confused, hungry, angry, peaceful, grateful, happy, sad, comfortable, thirsty.
What’s your very.
Tony and I have been very lucky (worked hard) to be able to travel and have visited some amazing cities and countries, Vietnam, Vatican City and Venice being a couple of them.
We honeymooned in Vietnam, much to everyone’s surprise and experienced and saw some amazing things. We returned again last year to see another part of the country.
My dream destination starting with V is Vancouver.
What will a Vacation/holiday mean now?
Is it a staycation (never heard of that word before covid) or are you brave enough to fly?
Yes It’s V for Vegetables – boring or interesting?
Vegetables…. now there’s a word that you can love or hate.
Botanically speaking, a fruit is a seed-bearing structure that develops from the ovary of a flowering plant, whereas vegetables are all other plant parts, such as roots, leaves and stems.
Despite that, there are still some foods that we call vegetables, but are fruits. For example, tomatoes, cucumber, avocados, olives are technically fruits, even if they taste savoury. Although tomatoes come in several different varieties, there’s no doubt that they are all fruit, not a vegetable.
Vodka, Venison, Vanilla, Vol-au-Vent, Vermicelli, Vindaloo, Vermont
Vodka No explanation needed!
Venison Venison has 50% less fat than beef, making it a healthier red meat alternative. And where’s it’s low in fat, it’s high in protein—that’s why eating venison is great for anyone trying to build lean muscle. Venison is also great for those on restrictive diets.
Vanilla No not ice cream. Vanilla is a spice derived from orchids of the genus Vanilla, primarily obtained from pods of the Mexican species, flat-leaved vanilla. The word vanilla, derived from vainilla, the diminutive of the Spanish word vaina, is translated simply as “little pod”. Do you have a “little pod”?
Vol au Vent or a “whaft of wind” Unless you were around in the 70’s you will probably think a what? a buffet item of the time, oval shaped pastry stuffed with prawns normally. (no thank you)
Vermicelli Vermicelli is a traditional type of pasta similar to spaghetti. In English-speaking regions it is usually thinner than spaghetti, while in Italy it is typically thicker. The term vermicelli is also used to describe various types of thin noodles from Asia.
Vindaloo The word vindaloo is a garbled pronunciation of the popular Portuguese dish carne de vinha d’alhos (meat marinated in wine-vinegar and garlic), which made its way to India in the 15th century along with Portuguese explorers. .. to me the word Vindaloo means HOT HOT HOT and NO thank you.
Vermont constituent state of the United States of America or Martini Rosso is an Italian vermouth or drink with a splash of soda water, a slice of orange and a green olive.
