Not losing pounds? You might be losing inches!

Sharing is caring!

Some weeks you think you have been very good with your eating habits and then it comes  to weigh day and you have stayed the same. You feel disheartened, fed up, lose the will to continue and think all that hard work you put into healthy eating and exercise to see no results. Don’t give up and buy a chocolate bar or a bottle of wine. You may not have lost weight but have you changed shape?

Losing weight isn’t always about watching the numbers on the scales go down, even though that is what we want.  Grab yourself a measuring tape and measure yourself you could of lost an inch off your tummy this week but the scales won’t show that.

Why it is important to measure yourself.

Quick answer could be that seeing the inches fall away will make you feel better, no one knows what you weigh, or what size clothes you wear, but people do see how you look/dress/walk and your general appearance.

You don’t even have to use a tape measure, try on that pair of jeans/trousers or skirt that fit’s you just a little “snugly” and then try it on again a month later. You may find that it will fit better and eventually be too big.

Where should I measure

Waist (use your belly button as a guide) bust, hips and arms.

Fat can be hard to shift  in some places, many men carry their weight on their bellies while most women it will be their bottoms and hips. Unfortunately we can not target where we will lose the fat or pick where we would like to lose the inches but with a varied exercise program given by Move 2 Lose and following a sensible eating plan we can certainly try.
