Your Sunday News & Updates
If you are anything like me in my house, not only do I not get a look in when it comes to what we watch on TV but I don’t know how to use the remote either! So are you a BBC or ITV person:
BBC
what Julie says…. Balance, Breathe, Control
what you may say….. Bacon, Biscuits, Crisps
ITV
what Julie says…Initiative, Target, Variety
what you may say….Ice cream, Takeaways, Vodka
Look at the food items listed above, what do you eat and drink while watching tv? Does the continuous showing of adverts with food and drink drive you from the sofa to the fridge and cupboards?
What you said:
I don’t mean to put on weight Julie, It just happens.
It is very difficult for me to stay serious when someone say’s something like this to me, should I say.
  •  Oh that’s ok,
  •  I’m sure you will lose it next week.
  •  Never mind try harder

Or should I say

  •  I think  that’s the wrong attitude
  • Not sure you are taking this seriously
  • Look at your lifestyle and eating habits and make some changes
Garden fruit and veg = CAKE
The courgette is a member of the cucumber family. Cucurbits, whether that’s cucumbers or courgette, squash or pumpkin, they are all from the same family.
Courgettes are basically immature marrows. They are the best loved of all the squashes as they are so versatile. They can be steamed, boiled, stir-fried, sautéed, stewed, grilled, roasted, deep-fried and baked. But be warned if boiled can go mushy. Courgettes resemble marrow; however, their flesh is firmer and tastier and can be used in a variety of dishes. They may vary in colour from very dark green through pale green to yellow. They are a very good source of Vitamin A and a good source of Vitamin C and folic acid (Iron). Courgettes also contain blood pressure controlling potassium and are rich in eye friendly antioxidants lutein.

Anyone who is suffering a courgette, tomato, runner bean or any other garden produce glut please bring into class for sale on our charity table, thank you in advance.

Have you tried Courgette Cake?
