Move 2 Lose, Yearly new. Why not make a “cuppa” and read today’s newsletter, take each event and have a little thought/reflect over your time with Move 2 Lose this year.
Move 2 Lose is not all about losing weight. Move 2 Lose is not all about getting fit. Move 2 Lose can be so much more. For many it has helped with health issues, for many coming off medication, for many a chat over a cuppa, for many new friends have been made. So what does Move 2 Lose give you, I would be interested to know.
2018 Looking Back
First class in 2018 was when many of you found out that I had got married during my Christmas break, and would from now on always be Mrs Wright. Where has this year gone and what have we done? in no particular order, and i’m sure I would have missed something.
Lego – where is yours? how did you do? did you take it seriously enough? will you start again in 2019?
A night of SNOW, Mr & Mrs Wright invited you to celebrate their wedding.
Julie & Tony travel to Berlin, an amazing wedding gift…..thank you….thank you.
After cancelling due to snow, we went ahead with our annual barn dance for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance raising a fantastic £722.39 (next years date will be given soon)
Another great night for Move 2 Lose members, did you walk this year? will you walk next year? Move 2 Lose members raised £142.64
Royal Wedding Party
We celebrated with crowns, tiara’s, tea and cake!!!!!
All those weeks when it was just SO hot…..remember.
In July I presented a cheque to Simon and Anna from Age Concern for £617.69, this was amazing as all this money was raised from our charity shop at Shrub End (a sad loss)
When I was invited to visit the Colchester General Hospital charity office I had no idea that I would sign up to the 2019 club. I pledged to raise £2019 by the end of March 2019. I left the hospital that day thinking what have I done, and at the same time knew that I would have the full support of my members.
You know the rest and yes you where the BEST – £4368.62
A huge well done to Stella, Carrie, Wendy and Julie for abseiling down the Town Hall for COHOC.
Life Boat Jars
Never did Jenny/Janet or myself expect to collect so many little jars full of 5p pieces. We have raised a massive amount of £383.35 all of which goes to the Life Boat Charity.
A visit with Sharon who managed to walk forward but missed her footing walking back!. Broken wrist and off to A & E. The funniest part was there we sat with our Move 2 Lose tops on, I know,it was not funny for Sharon, but she soon bounced back to class.
Another year of knitting for Jenny/Janet and Linda with £190.81 going to The British Legion.
Shrub End Hall closing
Good things come from bad! We moved out to Marks Tey hall for 3 weeks and then returned to Shrub End with an earlier class time which then gave me the opportunity to add a stretching section at the end of each class, which has gone down very well with you all.
I went off to London to start my Fitness Pilates exam and was thrilled to pass in November, watch this space in 2019 for FP classes, newsletter this week with full details.
Thank you Corinne, Julie, Sylvia and of course Pauline (mum) for everything you do, it’s not just taking the money, it’s loading and unloading the car in all weathers and putting up with my moaning.
Thank you to Tracey our tea lady for running the kitchen at Shrub End.
I choose to end this amazing list with the night shelter, apart from some class members donating cash, Move 2 Lose have given so much. Clothing, bedding, food, towels, shoes, toilet rolls, washing powder but most of all these items have been donated with great thought for those that are not as lucky as us, thank you. Move 2 Lose are now making a hamper so please bring any items into class the you just know you should not be eating.
WOW – I make that £6425.50
I make that 2018 and very Happy Year.
