It’s Me….. Julie Palmer

Sharing is caring!

It’s ME, How are you?
December 18th
How are you getting on without me????
I have only been away 10 days so what have you been up to?
Works party?
Have you met up with a friend for a coffee and a chat..
..leading to coffee, chat and mince pie?
How are you getting on with your shopping, wrapping, tree decorating and all the other things that have to be done. Do you writ a list or do you just hope you get it all done?
What about the food, who buys, who cooks, who is the hostess, SO many questions and only you have the answers.
The average person believes they only consume 3,000 calories on Christmas Day, but really they eat any thing up to….7,000. A roast potato is aprox 200 calories covered in goose fat, Christmas pudding is 330 and pigs in blankets are 97 a piece! And I lost count when it came to Yorkshire puddings, after eight mints, sausage meat, gravy, bread sauce, and on and on and on…………
Champagne, at 133 calories a glass, was the top tipple to accompany the Christmas meal, followed by Mulled wine at 119 per glass, then Baileys at 180.
Then there’s the extra chocolate, mince pies, nuts, crisps, cheese and biscuits that leave most of us feeling as rotund as Santa himself by the time we go to bed.
The truth is, we just have NO idea how much and what we do eat!
And then there’s Boxing day- this year we have 2!
Then New Years Eve, New Years Day….. when we start all over again.
Good job classes are open again on Wednesday 28th at Shurb End Hall 10am ALL welcome, bring your left overs for our Christmas Party.
It would take more than 10 hours of running, cycling at more than 20mph for seven hours, climbing stairs for eight hours and skipping for 12 hours to burn off the 7,000 calories consumed on Christmas Day.
‘We over-eat at the best of times but Christmas Day is off the scale. People seem to resign themselves to putting weight on over the holidays and worry about their weight in the New Year.
‘I’d say if you don’t want to gain weight, then maybe fill up on vegetables, drink water in between alcoholic drinks, go for a walk before and after your dinner and try not to have too many treats.
 OR JUST SAY NO!!
‘Enjoy Christmas, of course, but many people go from being healthy to completely eating over the top on food and drink and feeling awful and regretful.

Julie where are you I miss you. I will be enjoying the Christmas season and will eat the 3000-7000 calories no problem on Christmas day, I won’t be running for 10hours to burn it off though. Instead will be attending your classes in the week between Christmas and New Year.

Its Christmas and we all know we indulge far to much but wouldn’t be Christmas with all the extra trimmings or all the boxes of chocolates everywhere 🙂 I mean fruit salads cough cough.

Have a lovely Christmas and 2017 here we come
